
Steven Walker
Dr. Steven H. Walker is an independent consultant providing expertise to industry, academia and government on defense technology development and strategic innovation. Dr Walker recently retired from his position as Vice President and CTO of Lockheed Martin where he was responsible for the company’s technology strategy, internal R&D investments, strategic partnerships and laboratories. Previously, Dr. Walker held the positions of Director, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) from 2017-2020 and Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Science, Technology and Engineering from 2010-2012. Dr Walker has received numerous professional awards for his ground-breaking work in high-speed aerospace systems to include the DOD Distinguished Civilian Service medal, the Presidential Rank award, and the Hap Arnold aerospace medal. Dr. Walker is an Honorary Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and a member of the National Academy of Engineering. He is a Board Director for SRI International, Applied Research Associates (ARA) and Advanced Technology International (ATI). He holds a PhD. and B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and is a member of Notre Dame’s Graduate Studies and Research Council.
